The Police Special Task Force managed to arrest an associate of the large-scale drug network operated by the alleged drug trafficker 'Dubai Ravishka', who is abroad, along with a stock of drugs worth millions of rupees yesterday in the Maswila, Wendesi Watta area in Bandaragama.
Officers managed to find a large stock of 18 kilograms and 672 grams of drugs hidden in the relevant house.
An electronic weighing scale and two mobile phones, suspected to have been used for drug trafficking and distribution activities, were also taken into police custody.
The suspect arrested in this manner is a 23-year-old youth residing in the Maswila area itself.
Preliminary investigations conducted into the incident revealed that he acted as a main local operator of 'Dubai Ravishka', who is connected to the alleged organised crime and drug network of Panadura 'Kudu Salindu' and is currently hiding in Dubai.
The arrested suspect, the stock of drugs, and the goods related to the case were handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau for further extensive investigations.
