Trade, investment and business co-operation between Sri Lanka and Romania received a boost with the inauguration of the Colombo office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest.
The new premises, located at Alexandra Place in Colombo 07, officially opened on the 18th of August 2026.
Dr Saman Weerasinghe delivered the welcome address at the ceremony, offering congratulations on the organisation's 162nd anniversary.
The Head of Representative of the Colombo Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest (CCIB), Teshan Dilanka, also took part in the proceedings.
The event brought together several distinguished guests, including the Deputy Minister of Tourism, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, and the Chargé d'Affaires of Romania to Sri Lanka, Mihaela Rutjens.
