Exterminators PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading pest-tech and environmental technology company, is accelerating its artificial intelligence-led digital transformation to improve operational efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and enhance customer and employee experiences.
The company’s latest initiatives include AI-powered route optimisation, the Sentro 3G smart rodent bait station, the Smart Missile 3G digital termite monitoring system, and an AI-powered Report Factory. Through strategic collaborations with Sentario UK Limited, PestScan B.V. Netherlands, and Futura Germany, Exterminators PLC is expanding its presence in preventive digital pest management and environmental technology solutions.
The company began its digitalisation journey in 2014 with the launch of South Asia’s first mobile application in the pest management industry. This was followed by the e-Scheduler platform in 2018 and the eConnect customer portal in 2019.
Founder and Managing Director of Exterminators PLC, Marlon Ferreira, (pictured) said artificial intelligence is becoming a defining force in modern business operations and a practical tool to improve decision-making, service quality, and performance across the industry.
He noted that machine learning and deep learning algorithms allow the company to identify pest behaviour patterns earlier and take preventive action more effectively, helping to reduce infestation risks and limit pest-borne disease exposure.
Ferreira added that as the company moves further into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it remains committed to responsible AI innovation in Sri Lanka and beyond, creating long-term value while balancing people, planet, and profit.
The eConnect platform serves as a web-based customer portal that enhances transparency and convenience, allowing clients to view invoices, monitor service schedules, access service reports, reschedule appointments, and communicate digitally with the company.
The mobile application integrates digital work orders with office operations, enabling paperless workflows, real-time scheduling updates, service history access, technician tracking, and inspection photography.
AI-enabled route optimisation and scheduling systems improve technician deployment by factoring in shifts, breaks, holidays, and time buffers, while also reducing operational inefficiencies and energy consumption.
The Sentro 3G rodent bait station and Smart Missile 3G termite system use QR-enabled and IoT-based technologies to support real-time monitoring, early detection, reduced chemical usage, and improved audit accuracy.
