David Pieris Group is pleased to announce that D P Logistics (Private) Limited has officially changed its name to David Pieris Logistics (Private) Limited (DPL), marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and integration within the Group’s expanding logistics portfolio.
The name change reflects the company’s strengthened identity under the David Pieris Group brand and its enhanced position as a leading end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions provider in Sri Lanka and overseas.
David Pieris Logistics currently ranks amongst the top ten companies in warehousing and third-party logistics (3PL) operations in the country and manages one of the largest container fleets within the local logistics sector. Despite operating in a highly fragmented freight forwarding market, the company continues to grow its market share, reinforcing its reputation as one of the few local logistics providers with comprehensive expertise across all logistics disciplines.
In line with its expansion strategy, the David Pieris Group acquired Pulsar Shipping Agencies (Pvt.) Limited, formerly the shipping arm of Expolanka Holdings PLC, in 2022. This acquisition enabled the Group to strengthen its Logistics & Shipping Cluster by expanding into ship agency services, husbandry services, and marine logistics, further broadening its service capabilities.
Through these strategic integrations, David Pieris Logistics now offers a fully comprehensive portfolio of services, including container transportation, distribution and project logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearance, third-party logistics (3PL), warehousing, and supply chain management.
Further strengthening its international footprint, the David Pieris Group has also acquired a 50% stake in Navire Logistics Services L.L.C, a reputed logistics company based in Dubai and it’s fully owned subsidiary in Muscat and Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. Navire Logistics Services LLC has also established a joint venture in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This strategic investment represents a key milestone in the Group’s expansion beyond Sri Lanka, positioning it for stronger participation in international and regional logistics markets.
Further expansions are in progress, at the moment through new Joint ventures to be setup in Shipping and Logistics in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other new geographies.
