The poverty line for June rose to 17,592 rupees, according to the latest data released by the Department of Census and Statistics.
The figure represents an increase of 277 rupees compared to the previous month of May.
Furthermore, the value of the poverty line in the Colombo district climbed to 18,973 rupees in June, while the value in the Gampaha district stood at 18,876 rupees.
The lowest value of the poverty line was recorded in the Moneragala District, with the value indicated as 16,821 rupees.
