Prime Media Studios has acquired North American distribution rights to “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups” and released the English-language trailer for the Geetu Mohandas-directed action thriller, positioning Yash‘s high-profile project for a coordinated global debut on Aug. 26.
The trailer marks the first extended footage from the film shot simultaneously in the English and Kannada languages, presenting a narrative centered on power, betrayal and personal consequence within a fictionalized Goa during the waning years of Portuguese colonial rule. Yash appears in a dual role as Raya and Ticket, navigating the city’s underworld through violence and strategic manipulation. The ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in supporting roles shaped by competing motivations and shifting loyalties.
The visual approach combines contemporary production design with an international cinematic sensibility. Stunt coordinator J.J. Perry, whose action credits include the “John Wick” and “Fast & Furious” franchises, orchestrated the film’s action sequences to establish a visual language that bridges Indian and global filmmaking conventions.
Yash not only stars in the film but also co-wrote and produced it through Monster Mind Creations alongside producer Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions.
The upcoming “Ramayana,” the large-scale Indian mythological adaptation, features Yash as demon king Ravana that represents another significant investment in global platform building for Indian storytelling.
“Toxic” will release across multiple territories in the Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. North American theaters will show the film in English and Kannada with additional dubbed versions available.
