Maris Stella College in Negombo and A. Ratnayaka Central College in Walala secured the Boys’ and Girls’ overall titles at the 32nd All-Island Schools’ Games Athletic Championship Meet that was held in Bogambara ground, Kandy.
Maris Stella College gained 100 points, followed by St. Benedict’s College (87 points) and St. Mary’s College Chilaw (46 points).
Walala A. Ratnayaka secured 150 points in the girls’ events, while Sumana Balika Vidyalaya Ratnapura came second with 64 points and Ambagamuwa Maha Vidyalaya that secured 58 points.
Ridma Nishadi of Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda was named the top performer. She set an Under-19 Long Jump record with 5.85metres.
Meanwhile, Chamal Kumara of D.S. Senanayake Central College Meerigama and Hashini Probodha of Holy Family Convent Wennappuwa became the Best Athletes in Boy's and Girls' categories respectively.
