President Pavithra Fernando stated that the move follows a chaotic situation that erupted after the match between Kandy SC and CH & FC ended in a draw last weekend.

This incident is not an isolated one, as spectators at the Nittawela Stadium—the home ground of Kandy SC—have previously targeted visiting teams, leading to various past conflicts.

The governing body's upcoming ruling will determine if the venue remains suitable for upcoming fixtures, given these recurring security concerns.
