The biography of Lal Perera, marking his 50 years of continuous service at St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya, was launched at a ceremony held recently at the school hall.
Perera began his journey at the college in June 1976 and served under seven Rectors during his tenure. Titled Asu Piru Than Piri Lal, the book was edited by former student Upul Devapriya.
Chairman of The Chance Sports, Lasantha Amarasinghe, who attended the event as a guest, made a financial donation to Lal Perera in the presence of Chief Guest His Eminence Bishop Anton Ranjith and former Principal Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin.
The ceremony was attended by the current Principal, Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo, along with all living former Principals of the college, invited clergy, former students including Old Boys’ Association President Roshan Fernando, members of the teaching staff, representatives of the Old Boys’ Association, as well as guests and well-wishers.
