A businessman was remanded until 10 July by the Homagama Magistrate's Court after being arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption yesterday (7) for aiding and abetting the fraudulent registration of two illegally imported vehicles.
The suspect colluded with Department of Motor Traffic officials to enter the vehicles into the department's computer database without paying customs duties or completing customs clearance.
The arrested individual is a businessman named Molpeyala Ge Sanjeeva Kumara, a resident of the Pitipana area in Homagama.
