The price of gold in Sri Lanka has continued its decline today (29) dropping by approximately Rs. 2,000 compared to the figures recorded yesterday.
This downward movement in the local market, reported by traders at the Colombo Pettah gold market, has lowered the cost of a sovereign of both 22-carat and 24-carat gold.
The price for a 22-carat gold sovereign is Rs. 294,000, down from Rs. 296,000 on October 28.
Similarly, a 24-carat gold sovereign is now priced at Rs. 318,000, having dropped from Rs. 320,000 recorded the previous day.
