The number of police officers infected with the coronavirus has now increased to 78.
When PCR tests were conducted on 13 officers of the Borella police station it was revealed that seven (07) of them have contracted the covid-19 virus.
Police Media Spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a group of Coast Guard officers have also been infected with the virus.
A police spokesman said that nearly 300 people had been quarantined while 1800 had been placed under self quarantine in police barracks.
