Death of Puttalam MC Chairman - Arrested driver to be produced before court today (Video)

The driver who was arrested in connection with the death of the Puttalam Municipal Council Chairman Abdul Baiz Kamardeen is due to be produced before the Puttalam Magistrate's Court this afternoon (24).

Police stated that the other two suspects are being questioned.

The accident took place yesterday afternoon when the Chairman of the Puttalam Municipal Council Chairman Abdul Baiz Kamardeen fell from a cab while returning from a bath in the Ralmaduwa tank in Wanathawilluwa with a group of others.

A group of people near the Ralmaduwa Lake stated to the police that the said group started their journey carelessly in the cab after drinking alcohol.

However, the postmortem examination of the body of 52-year-old Chairman Abdul Baiz Kamardeen is scheduled to be conducted at the Puttalam General Hospital today (24).
