Nagalingam Vaganayagam officially took charge as the new Governor of the Northern Province today (27) at a ceremonial event held at the Northern Province Governor's Office.
The ceremony included religious observances, marking the start of his tenure following his appointment by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Nagalingam Vedanayagam, a distinguished civil servant, has previously served as District Governor of Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts since the end of the war. In his speech, the new Governor pledged to serve the province with integrity, aligning with the President's vision for a corruption-free public service.
