A meeting took place between United National Party (UNP) Leader and former President, Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Leader and former President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, at the latter's Carlton residence in Tangalle when Wickremesinghe recently visited to inquire about his well-being.
Wickremesinghe specifically raised the upcoming series of protests being organised by the opposition against the government in November.
He stressed the necessity of securing the support of the SLPP for these protests.
In response, Mahinda Rajapaksa reportedly agreed to inform Namal Rajapaksa and Sagara Kariyawasam to ensure the necessary support is provided.
