The Department of Railways has announced special train services for devotees visiting the sacred Sarvagna Relics exhibition at the Gangaramaya Temple in Hunupitiya, Colombo.
These additional services will operate from February 5 to February 10, supplementing the existing train schedule.
The special trains will run according to the following schedule:
From Regional Stations to Colombo:
· Avissawella to Colombo Fort: Departs at 7:15 PM and arrives at 9:56 PM.
· Rambukkana to Colombo Fort: Departs at 6:30 PM and arrives at 8:51 PM.
· Aluthgama to Maradana: Departs at 7:10 PM and arrives at 8:57 PM.
Return Services from Colombo:
· Colombo Fort to Avissawella: Departs at 1:00 AM and arrives at 3:37 AM.
· Colombo Fort to Rambukkana: Departs at 1:00 AM and arrives at 3:15 AM.
· Maradana to Aluthgama: Departs at 2:00 AM and arrives at 3:47 AM.
The relic exhibition, featuring the Devni Mori relics brought from India, is held in conjunction with the 78th National Independence Day and will be open to the public 24 hours a day until the morning of February 11.
