The Police Media Division reports a rise in complaints where employees have allegedly made off with valuables, including gold jewellery, cash, and foreign currency. Investigations suggest that suspects are gaining access to homes through recruitment agencies, middle-men, or direct hire before fleeing with the property.

To mitigate these risks, authorities are recommending that employers verify National Identity Cards and request formal police clearance reports before hiring. The police also suggest keeping family contact details on file and ensuring that high-value items and sensitive documents are stored in secure locations.
