A 33-year-old resident of Kelaniya was arrested over allegations of damaging property at the modernised Pettah Central Bus Stand.
Police state that the individual was apprehended along with a portion of the stolen property.
Investigations commenced following a complaint lodged with the Pettah Police Station by the bus stand's welfare department.
The Sri Lanka Air Force is scheduled to call for an assessment report regarding the damage caused.
After being produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court, the suspect was remanded in custody until the 17th.
