Vietnamese President arrives in Sri Lanka

The President of Vietnam and the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam arrived at Katunayake International Airport a short while ago for a two-day official state visit.

A delegation of 209 members accompanied the leader on the flight.

The group traveled from Mumbai, India, aboard Vietnam Airlines flight VN-1.

Our correspondent confirmed that the arrival marks the beginning of formal diplomatic engagements scheduled within the country.
