Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange commenced at 11:00 a.m. today (1) following a delay caused by a technical fault.
In a release, the CSE stated that The Central Depository System (Pvt) Ltd. suspended accounts inactive for over 15 years on June 30, 2026, and during this implementation, some active accounts faced inadvertent suspension.
Officials detected the error during the pre-open session and extended the market auction to restore the affected accounts.
The exchange expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the delay, stating that the extension was necessary to ensure a fair and orderly market.
