Attack on US base thwarted

Qatar's defence ministry said on Friday that a drone attack on Al Udeid Air Base near Doha had been thwarted.

Al Udeid is the biggest U.S. base in the Middle East and was a major part of the buildup of U.S. forces and weapons ahead of the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran on Saturday that killed Iran's supreme leader.
