New ambassador-designates receive parliamentary clearance

All Ambassador-designates who met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake recently have received clearance from the Parliamentary Committee on High Posts, enabling them to assume their respective diplomatic postings.

The appointments include:

1. Dharshana M. Perera as High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia

2. D.M.S.P. Dassanayake as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva

3. Dayani Mendis as Ambassador and Permanent Representative-designate of Sri Lanka to Austria

4. S.P.W. Pathirana as Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Romania

5. N.I.D. Paranavitana as Ambassador and Permanent Representative-designate of Sri Lanka to Ethiopia and the African Union

6. S. K. Chandrasiri as Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Israel

7. Dhammika Fernando as High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka to Kenya

8. Anura Withanage as Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Lebanon

9. Prof. Ms. M.I. Fazeeha Azmi as Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Iran

10. M. Farook M. Fawzer as Representative-designate of Sri Lanka to Palestine.
