Wimal slams government over ‘two arrests a day’

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa claims the current government prioritises arresting two people per day instead of implementing development programmes. He made this remark while responding to a question from journalists.

The former minister further stated that the government relies on framing charges against individuals to maintain its survival, as it lacks other operational plans. He added that the administration promised public servants a future where they could own their own vehicles, yet those workers are now reduced to buying 20 kilos of rice on credit.

He noted that public servants who stood in long queues to cast their postal votes are now being publicly accused of theft by Minister Lal Kantha. According to Weerawansa, no previous administration has treated government employees with such contempt, and this government represents the most disgraceful governance in that regard.
