Medihelp Hospitals, Sri Lanka’s largest primary healthcare network and fastest-growing healthcare chain, inaugurated its 20th facility in Ambalangoda on January 29, 2026. This milestone marks the organisation’s first entry into the Southern Province as part of its national expansion journey.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several notable guests, including Asela Godahewa, Mayor of Ambalangoda Urban Council, along Chairman and Board of Directors of Medihelp Hospitals, management and staff members, invited guests.
The new Medihelp Ambalangoda branch is equipped to offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services. These include an emergency treatment unit, outpatient department (OPD), specialist consultations, a pharmacy, a fully automated diagnostic laboratory, a digital X-ray unit, ultrasound scanners, echocardiography, exercise ECG, and an endoscopy unit. In the near future, the facility will also provide inpatient services, allowing patients to stay overnight and receive continuous medical care.
Managing Director of Medihelp Hospitals, Chandika Wijesiriwardana, emphasized that the Ambalangoda branch represents not only the company’s 20th location but also a significant step towards realizing its broader vision of establishing a comprehensive national healthcare network.
This network aims to provide trusted and accessible medical services to communities throughout Sri Lanka.
With this latest opening, Medihelp reaffirms its position as a leading and rapidly expanding player in the country’s private healthcare sector, while committing to its long-term mission of enhancing access to quality and affordable healthcare for all Sri Lankans.
